Summary
Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado) has extended the 2021-2022 Synagis® (RSV prevention vaccine) season through April 15, 2022, allowing up to 8 doses instead of the usual 5 doses due to atypical RSV activity. Providers with existing prior authorizations can request modifications to add up to 3 additional doses through either Kepro (for office/clinic administration) or Magellan Rx (for home/long-term care administration).
Action Required
Immediately: Providers with existing Synagis® prior authorizations should submit modification requests to add up to 3 additional doses (maximum 8 total) through the appropriate channel - Kepro via Atrezzo portal for office/clinic administration (720-689-6340) or Magellan Rx Call Center for home/long-term care administration (1-800-434-5725). Schedule remaining doses with minimum 26-day intervals between injections through April 15, 2022. Update patient scheduling systems to accommodate extended season.
