Summary
Oklahoma Medicaid terminated dental code D9248 and replaced it with four new codes (D9244, D9245, D9246, D9247). Due to lower reimbursement rates for D9244 and D9245, Oklahoma will update these rates to match the previous D9248 rate of $135.67 by April 1, 2026.
Action Required
Immediately: For fee-for-service OHCA claims, billing team must use new codes D9244 and D9245 instead of D9248 for all claims starting Jan 1, 2026. For managed care (Liberty/DentaQuest) claims, continue using old code D9248 until further guidance from dental plans. Claims submitted between Jan 1-March 31, 2026 will be automatically recycled by May 1, 2026 to reflect updated rates.
