Summary
Liberty Dental Plan will now recoup payment for therapeutic pulpotomies (D3220) and gross pulpal debridement (D3221) when the same provider subsequently performs endodontic therapy (D3310, D3320, D3330) on the same tooth. This affects SoonerSelect Medicaid dental claims processing in Oklahoma.
Action Required
Before April 1, 2025: Dental billing team must update Liberty Dental Plan procedures to expect payment recoupment when billing D3310, D3320, or D3330 after previously billing D3220 or D3221 on the same tooth by same provider.
