Summary
Medical Mutual is launching a voluntary streamlined transfer process on June 9, 2025, allowing acute care hospitals to submit post-acute care admission requests directly through MedCommunity on behalf of LTAC, rehabilitation facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. This eliminates the need for post-acute providers to submit their own admission requests and improves transfer coordination.
Action Required
Before June 9, 2025: If your practice operates an acute care hospital and wants to use this voluntary transfer process, contact Robin Bender at robin.bender@medmutual.com to schedule required web-training on the MedCommunity process. Post-acute care facilities (LTAC, rehab, SNF) should coordinate with referring hospitals about this new option but no action is required as participation is voluntary.
