Summary
A new 'Bundled Value Code' field has been added to Medicare UB-04 Part A institutional crossover claims in the emomed system. Billing staff must use code Y5 for professional deductibles (CARC 247) and Y3 for professional coinsurance (CARC 248) when these reason codes appear on Medicare EOBs.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must learn to use the new Bundled Value Code field in emomed for Medicare UB-04 Part A institutional crossover claims. When Medicare EOB shows CARC 247 (professional deductible), select Y5 from dropdown. When EOB shows CARC 248 (professional coinsurance), select Y3 from dropdown.
