Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY Health) is discontinuing three DME billing codes (K1010, K1011, K1012) for intraurethral drainage devices and adding one new code (K1013) for enema tube replacements, effective April 1, 2021. Claims using the discontinued codes after March 31, 2021 will be denied.
Action Required
By April 1, 2021: Billing team must update DME billing system to stop using codes K1010, K1011, and K1012 for all HUSKY Health claims (codes will deny after March 31, 2021). Add new code K1013 for enema tube replacements with pricing at lesser of Actual Acquisition Cost plus 25% or manufacturer's suggested retail price minus 15%. Update encounter forms and train staff on code changes.
