Summary
Beginning July 18, 2026, providers can digitally access prior authorization and referral approval/denial letters for BCBS Texas commercial members through Availity Essentials portal. Starting September 8, 2026, approval letters will ONLY be available digitally - no longer mailed via USPS (denial letters will still be mailed).
Action Required
By July 18, 2026: Billing and prior authorization staff must set up access to Provider Correspondence Viewer in Availity Essentials portal to access BCBS Texas commercial member prior auth letters. By September 8, 2026: Must transition entirely to digital access for approval letters as USPS mailing will end. Contact Provider Education Consultants if training needed on new system.
