Summary
Starting June 1, 2026, SRTF (Secure Residential Treatment Facility) concurrent stay authorization requests must be submitted 30 days before the end of each 90-day Plan of Care period, reduced from the previous 45-day requirement. The POC will be extended in MMIS rather than creating new entries for concurrent stays.
Action Required
By June 1, 2026: Billing team must update SRTF authorization request timelines - submit concurrent stay authorization requests 30 days before POC end (not 45 days). Initial pre-authorizations remain at 45 days before approval period ends. Update scheduling systems and authorization tracking to reflect new 30-day timeline for concurrent stays to avoid authorization lapses.
