Summary
Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) will require Board Registered Behavioral Health Associates and Mental Health Interns to work for organizations with Certificate of Approval (COA) to continue billing OHP after June 2026. Current providers can continue direct billing until June 2026, after which they must become fully licensed or work for COA-certified organizations.
Action Required
By June 30, 2026: Behavioral health practices employing Board Registered Associates or Mental Health Interns must obtain Certificate of Approval (COA) from OHA by emailing LCApplications@oha.oregon.gov, or ensure these providers become fully licensed. Billing team must identify all current Associate/Intern providers and track their licensure status. Failure to comply will result in inability to bill OHP for services rendered by these providers after June 2026.
