Summary
EmblemHealth is replacing paper check payments with virtual credit cards (vCards) starting September 2, 2020, and implementing new pharmacy preauthorization through Express Scripts starting August 3. Providers must register for EFT/ERA by August 5 to avoid receiving vCard payments instead of direct deposit.
Action Required
By August 5, 2020: Billing team must register for PNC Remittance Advantage if you want EFT/ERA payments instead of virtual credit cards. Have your NPI ready when calling Provider Customer Service starting late August. Update patient eligibility verification processes to recognize new K-ID format member IDs for NYC EmblemHealth PPO members - use only first 9 digits when verifying Empire BCBS benefits.
