Summary
EmblemHealth is extending preauthorization expiration dates due to COVID-19 disruptions - inpatient authorizations can be extended through provider contact, and outpatient preauthorizations are automatically extended until December 31, 2020. New member ID format (K-ID) launches July 1 for NYC EmblemHealth PPO members, and new biosimilar preferred products take effect for bevacizumab, trastuzumab, and rituximab.

Immediately: Contact EmblemHealth if you receive letters about extending inpatient preauthorizations due to COVID-19 delays. By July 1, 2020: Update billing systems to recognize new K-ID member numbers for NYC EmblemHealth PPO members - old ID formats will no longer work. Verify member eligibility using new ID format. For oncology practices: Update prior authorization workflows for bevacizumab, trastuzumab, and rituximab to reflect new preferred biosimilar products starting July 1.
