Illinois Medicaid is eliminating their proprietary eligibility response system on January 4, 2012, and transitioning to the 5010 271 transaction format. The system date that tracks retroactive eligibility will temporarily be unavailable until programming changes are completed by February 1, 2012.
Action Required
Until February 1, 2012: Hold all claims that are past timely filing due to retroactive eligibility instead of submitting them. After February 1, 2012: Re-verify eligibility using the updated 5010 271 transaction to identify the system date in Loop 2110C, DTP Segment with qualifier 636, then submit eligible claims to medical consultant via paper.
