Summary
Illinois has approved optometrists as eligible providers for the Medicaid Electronic Health Record Provider Incentive Payment (EHR/PIP) program. Optometrists who adopt and meaningfully use certified EHR technology can receive incentive payments starting February 2012.
Action Required
Optometrists only: Register at CMS website, enroll as HFS provider, and complete attestation via HFS MEDI website to receive EHR incentive payments. Initial payments available February 2012. Does not affect billing team workflows.
