Action Required

Action needed
Immediately (effective July 1, 2011): Community Mental Health providers must transition all billing to HFS instead of DHS. Billing team must: 1) Review and implement updated Community Mental Health Service Definition and Reimbursement Guide for coding changes, 2) Ensure compliance with HFS NPI policies by verifying one-to-one relationship between NPIs and HFS provider numbers, 3) Update internal billing systems with any coding requirement changes, 4) Register for HFS technical assistance teleconferences, 5) Contact HFS Provider Billing Line at 1-877-782-5565 (Option 0) for Community Mental Health Support if needed. Non-compliance may result in billing rejections.
