Summary
New Mexico has implemented a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Demonstration program effective January 1, 2025, establishing new reimbursement methodology and service requirements for behavioral health providers. CCBHCs will be reimbursed using a prospective payment system (PPS-1) with fixed daily rates regardless of number of services provided per day.
Action Required
Immediately: Behavioral health providers in New Mexico should review CCBHC certification requirements if interested in participating. Billing teams must understand that CCBHCs receive one PPS payment per day per beneficiary regardless of services provided. Review qualifying service codes at NMrecovery.org/CCBHC and ensure proper billing procedures for the new payment methodology.
