Summary
Effective July 1, 2025, out-of-state physicians with telemedicine waivers from Kansas Board of Healing Arts can provide telemedicine services to Kansas patients through KMAP. New provider specialty codes 355 (OOS Addiction Medicine) and 356 (OOS Psychiatrist) are added, with specific Place of Service codes required for billing.
Action Required
By July 1, 2025: Billing team must verify out-of-state providers have KMAP enrollment and KSBHA telemedicine waivers before billing. Update billing system to use POS code 02 for telemedicine outside patient home and POS code 10 for telemedicine in patient home. Verify provider specialty codes 355 (OOS Addiction Medicine) and 356 (OOS Psychiatrist) are configured in system. Ensure same documentation requirements as in-person visits are met.
