Summary
Nevada Medicaid has updated the Behaviorally Complex Care Program (BCCP) billing process for nursing facilities. Due to system limitations, providers must now split-bill BCCP claims when tier changes occur within a single month to ensure accurate payment, as the system currently only reads the first date of service.
Action Required
Immediately: Nursing facility billing teams must implement split-billing for all BCCP claims when tier changes occur within a month. Split claims when: tier starts after the 1st, tier changes mid-month, or tier ends mid-month. Maintain internal records for all BCCP recipients to track tier assignments and ensure accurate billing. Contact ltss@nvha.nv.gov for tier assignment questions. System will be enhanced in Spring 2026 to eliminate split-billing requirement.
