Summary
Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico will terminate providers from networks if they don't file claims using their billing or rendering NPI and TIN within 24 months. Providers must actively bill claims to keep their record IDs active and maintain network participation.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must identify all provider NPIs and TINs in the practice and ensure claims are filed under each billing or rendering NPI/TIN combination at least once every 24 months. Create a tracking system to monitor claim submission dates by provider NPI/TIN to prevent network termination. Review current provider record IDs with BCBSNM to ensure all are active and being used.
