Effective April 1, 2026, Alacura Medical Transportation Management will manage prior authorization, clinical review, and claim review for all commercial ground and air medical transportation services. Facilities, providers, and ambulance companies must contact Alacura at 866-729-8210 once transport decisions are made for non-emergent medical transportation.

Before April 1, 2026: Update workflows to require contacting Alacura Medical Transportation Management at 866-729-8210 (available 24/7) immediately when non-emergent ground or air medical transport decisions are made. Billing team must verify Alacura engagement before ambulance pickup. Continue checking eligibility through Availity Essentials to identify prior authorization requirements. Failure to engage Alacura may result in claim denials for medical transportation services.
