By March 31, 2026: Update patient education materials and provider documentation to reflect the transportation vendor change from ModivCare to MediDrive. Front desk and billing staff should be trained to direct members to member.medidrive.com/login for ride scheduling after April 1, 2026, while keeping the transportation phone number the same. Ensure all staff understand the balance billing policy—confirm that participating providers do not bill members beyond their cost-sharing liability for covered services. Audit current billing practices to ensure compliance: verify no balance billing for covered services is occurring, document informed written consent for any non-covered services, and ensure all claim denials and member cost-sharing are communicated clearly. If balance billing complaints arise, Provider Relations must be contacted at 1-800-279-1878. Failure to comply with balance billing restrictions can result in network termination, referral to Virginia Medicaid Fraud Division, or referral to HHS-OIG.
