Due to American Rescue Plan expiration, Indiana Medicaid's Family Planning Eligibility Program will no longer cover specific procedure codes (including office visits, ED visits, chest X-rays) for dates of service after October 1, 2024. Mass claim adjustments begin September 10, 2025, with some E&M codes remaining covered only when billed with modifier FP.

Immediately: Review all Family Planning Eligibility Program claims with dates of service October 1, 2024 or later for the listed procedure codes. Billing team must add modifier FP to E&M codes (99202-99215) when services are specifically related to family planning to maintain coverage. Expect mass claim adjustments on remittance advices starting September 10, 2025 with ICNs beginning with 52. Update billing system to automatically append FP modifier for family planning visits.
