Summary
Indiana Medicaid has added 12 new telemedicine CPT codes (98000-98013) as valid encounter codes for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), effective July 28, 2025 but applying retroactively to services from January 1, 2025. Previously denied claims for these codes can be resubmitted with required T1040 encounter codes and specific modifiers.
Action Required
By July 28, 2025: CCBHC providers must update billing systems to include CPT codes 98000-98013 with required modifiers (Q2 95 for video visits, Q2 93 for audio-only visits) and T1040 encounter code for Indiana Medicaid claims. Resubmit previously denied claims for these codes with dates of service January 1, 2025 or later, including this bulletin as attachment for claims beyond original 180-day filing limit. All resubmissions must be filed within 180 days of June 26, 2025.
