Summary
IHCP has identified and resolved a claim processing issue where Attendant Care or Home and Community Assistance services were incorrectly denied with EOB code 6492 when reported on the same claim as denied Structured Family Caregiving services. Providers can now bypass this denial by submitting Structured Family Caregiving services first or on separate claims, and can resubmit previously denied claims.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must separate Structured Family Caregiving services from Attendant Care and Home and Community Assistance services when billing IHCP waiver programs (H&W, TBI, MFP). Submit Structured Family Caregiving claims first or on separate claims to avoid inappropriate denials with EOB code 6492. Resubmit any previously denied Attendant Care or Home and Community Assistance claims that were reported with denied Structured Family Caregiving services in the same calendar month.
