By December 1, 2026: Billing team must audit current patient roster and claims history to identify all Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan members receiving services billed under discontinued H codes (H0003–H0047, H1011, H2001–H2033, excluding H0006). By December 15, 2026: (1) Update billing software to flag and reject claims with discontinued codes submitted to Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan effective 01/01/2027; (2) Identify alternative HCPCS codes or modifiers for discontinued services, if available; (3) Notify affected providers of the code discontinuations and required alternatives; (4) Establish patient communication protocol for affected members regarding coverage changes. Before 01/01/2027: Providers and front desk staff must be trained on the new restrictions. Beginning 01/01/2027: Route all behavioral health and substance abuse claims for this plan through updated billing rules. Add H0006 to covered services list in billing system. Failure to comply will result in claim denials and potential revenue loss for affected services.
