Action Required
By December 1, 2026: Billing team must (1) audit current claims to identify all services billed using H codes H0003-H0047 and H1011, H2001-H2033 to Ambetter Louisiana; (2) update billing system edits to block or flag these 45 codes as non-covered for Ambetter Louisiana effective 01/01/2027; (3) configure system to allow H0006 as covered beginning 01/01/2027; (4) identify alternative HCPCS or CPT codes for affected behavioral health services (e.g., 99492-99494 for behavioral health integration) or coordinate with clinical providers on coverage alternatives; (5) establish internal communication protocol to notify providers of code discontinuation and required alternatives; (6) update claim submission workflows and templates to remove affected H codes from Ambetter Louisiana submissions. Failure to implement these changes will result in automatic claim denials for any H code claims (except H0006) submitted to Ambetter Louisiana on or after 01/01/2027.
