Summary
Maryland Medicaid has clarified billing rules for revenue code 0810 (organ/tissue acquisition) effective July 1, 2025. For inpatient claims, 081X revenue codes can be billed without HCPCS codes, but for outpatient claims, revenue code 0810 must be paired with HCPCS code V2785 (corneal tissue acquisition) or the entire claim will be denied.

Immediately: Billing team must update system edits to ensure revenue code 0810 is only billed with HCPCS code V2785 for outpatient claims in Maryland Medicaid. Configure claim scrubbing to prevent submission of 0810 with any other HCPCS code or without V2785, as this will cause entire claim denial. Verify inpatient billing allows 081X codes without HCPCS requirements.
