Summary
Cigna Healthcare has extended approval for NYVEPRIA as an alternative to UDENYCA through February 19, 2025, due to ongoing UDENYCA manufacturing shortages. NYVEPRIA can be prescribed without additional prior authorization if the patient already has an approved UDENYCA prior authorization on file.
Action Required
By February 19, 2025: Billing team must ensure NYVEPRIA (HCPCS Q5122) can be billed when patients have existing UDENYCA prior authorizations on file. Update billing system to recognize this exception. After February 19, 2025, standard prior authorization will be required for NYVEPRIA. Continue following standard prior authorization process for all other pegfilgrastim alternatives.
