Summary
Cigna Healthcare updated their preventive care services policy (A004) effective April 1, 2024, with significant changes to COVID-19 and influenza vaccination codes, plus additions for RSV vaccines and HIV PrEP services. Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update coding systems to use new COVID-19 vaccine codes 91318-91322 and stop using all removed temporary codes (0001A-0174A series and 91300-91317). Add new RSV vaccine codes 90380, 90381, 90678, 90679, 96380, 96381 and HIV PrEP injection code J0739 to preventive services. Remove influenza codes 90653-90658, 90660-90661, 90673, 90685, Q2037 and hearing screening codes 92652, 92653. Update encounter forms and billing software rules to reflect all code changes to ensure proper preventive care coverage.
