Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has expanded telehealth coverage to include 9 additional procedure codes for preventive medicine counseling and substance abuse services, effective retroactively to July 1, 2024. These services can be billed with telehealth modifiers and place of service codes, with some allowing audio-only delivery.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to allow telehealth billing for codes 99402, 99403, 99404, G0396, G0397, G0442, G0443, G0445, G0447 with POS codes 02 or 10 and modifiers 93 (audio-only) or 95 (audio/video). Update encounter forms to indicate which codes allow audio-only (modifier 93). Retroactively review and resubmit denied claims for these services from July 1, 2024 forward.
