Summary
Indiana Medicaid corrected guidance for FQHCs and RHCs: they should NOT bill COVID-19 vaccine administration separately from the vaccine itself. Both codes are carved out of managed care and should be submitted together to Gainwell Technologies with POS code 71, without T1015 encounter code.
Action Required
Immediately: FQHCs and RHCs must stop billing COVID-19 vaccine administration separately from COVID-19 vaccines. Submit both codes together to Gainwell Technologies using POS code 71 and remove T1015 encounter code. Bill other services provided on same date on separate claims. For previously denied claims, resubmit within 180 days (by July 16, 2024) including copy of this bulletin to satisfy timely filing requirements.
