Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has removed coverage for Janssen COVID-19 vaccine administration codes D1707 and D1712 for dental providers, effective May 22, 2023. Claims for these services will be mass adjusted or denied starting January 10, 2024.
Action Required
Immediately: Dental billing teams must stop billing codes D1707 and D1712 for Janssen COVID-19 vaccine administration for Indiana Medicaid patients with dates of service on or after May 22, 2023. Remove these codes from billing systems and encounter forms. Expect to see denied claim adjustments on remittance advices beginning January 10, 2024, with ICNs beginning with 80 or 52.
