Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) will begin recouping payments from personal care services providers who are not compliant with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements starting January 2023. While the final enforcement date for denying all non-compliant claims has been postponed until later in 2023, select claims will be recouped immediately for EVV violations.
Action Required
By January 1, 2023: Personal care services providers must ensure full compliance with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system requirements to document all services rendered. Billing teams should implement EVV compliance checks before claim submission and monitor Remittance Advice statements for any recoupment notifications due to EVV noncompliance. Failure to maintain EVV compliance will result in select claim recoupments starting immediately.
