Summary
Indiana Medicaid (IHCP) will cover standalone COVID-19 vaccine counseling for patients under 21 as an EPSDT benefit using new codes G0314 and G0315. This allows billing for counseling when vaccines are discussed but not administered during the visit.
Action Required
By August 1, 2022: Billing team must add new HCPCS codes G0314 ($44.66 for 16-30 mins) and G0315 ($28.92 for 5-15 mins) to billing system for COVID-19 vaccine counseling. Configure age restrictions (0-20 years) and required diagnosis codes Z00.121 and Z00.129. Update encounter forms for eligible providers (physicians, APRNs, PAs). Note: Only bill counseling codes when vaccine is NOT administered during the visit.
