Summary
IHCP discovered that Anthem and MDwise were not properly rotating through all approved Independent Review Organizations (IROs) for external appeals in 2020. 48 affected members now have until October 31, 2021 to request a new independent external review of their previously denied authorization appeals.

By October 31, 2021: If your practice has patients who received adverse IRO decisions from Anthem or MDwise in calendar year 2020, contact the affected MCE using the provided contact information to inquire about requesting a new independent external review.
