Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) will now reimburse EMS provider agencies for COVID-19 vaccine administration performed by basic EMTs, expanding coverage beyond the previously covered paramedics and advanced EMTs. This change is effective immediately under Governor's Executive Order 20-51.
Action Required
Immediately: EMS provider agencies enrolled in IHCP should review billing guidance in IHCP Bulletins BT2020118 and BT2020129 to understand procedures for billing COVID-19 vaccine administration by basic EMTs. Update billing workflows to include basic EMT-administered vaccines as reimbursable services.
