Summary
Effective November 1, 2020, Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) expanded eligible providers to include licensed behavioral health professionals including psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, and addiction counselors. These providers can now enroll as billing or rendering providers with reimbursement at 75% of the allowed fee schedule amount.
Action Required
If practice employs behavioral health professionals: Verify they have NPIs and valid state licenses, submit enrollment applications through IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal or paper packets, update billing system to reflect 75% reimbursement rate for these providers, and ensure proper provider type 11 specialty codes (616-621) are used for claims submission.
