Summary
BDDS has extended the therapeutic leave limit for ICF/IID (intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities) services from 60 to 120 calendar days due to COVID-19. Providers must resubmit previously denied claims that exceeded the old 60-day limit.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must identify and resubmit all ICF/IID therapeutic leave claims that were denied or reduced due to exceeding the previous 60-day limitation. Update billing system parameters to allow up to 120 calendar days of therapeutic leave for ICF/IID services. Review all claims denied since March 19, 2020 for this reason.
