Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has suspended all cost-sharing including copayments, premiums, and deductibles for Medicaid members during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Member coverage will not be terminated during the emergency except for voluntary withdrawal or out-of-state moves.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to stop collecting copayments from all IHCP Medicaid members (HIP, Hoosier Care Connect, Hoosier Healthwise) effective April 1, 2020. Stop fast-track payment processing as first payments are no longer required for coverage to begin. Update front desk procedures to inform staff not to collect any copayments including pharmacy copayments during the public health emergency.
