Summary
BCBS Wyoming's new AGM platform has a technical issue where appeals submitted through Availity are not receiving provider comments. All Availity appeals must now include a cover sheet explaining the reason for appeal until this is resolved. Additionally, new claim edits for gastrointestinal and respiratory pathogen panels will take effect June 1, 2026.
Action Required
Immediately: All appeals submitted through Availity must include a cover sheet clearly outlining the reason for appeal and supporting details that would normally go in the comment field. Billing team must update appeal workflow processes. Appeals without cover sheets will experience delays or be returned. By June 1, 2026: Update billing system to reflect that gastrointestinal pathogen panels and multiplex respiratory pathogen panels testing for 5+ pathogens will be denied as non-covered.
