Summary
Beginning September 1, 2021, all prior authorizations for outpatient or professional services for BCBSWY members must be submitted through the Availity portal instead of previous submission methods. BCBSWY is offering training webinars starting June 17th to help providers transition to this new requirement.
Action Required
Before September 1, 2021: All staff handling prior authorizations must register for BCBSWY training webinar on June 17, 2021 at 11:00 MT by logging into Availity Portal > Help & Training > Get Trained > Sessions tab > enroll in 'BCBSWY Outpatient Authorization Submissions and Follow-up'. Update workflow procedures to submit all BCBSWY outpatient and professional service prior authorizations exclusively through Availity portal. Failure to use Availity portal after September 1st may result in authorization delays or denials.
