Summary
Blue Cross of Idaho is implementing a new claims processing system over 2.5 years with phased membership migration starting July 1, 2022. Providers will receive new provider numbers beginning July 1, 2022, and member ID cards will change as groups migrate to the new system.
Action Required
By July 1, 2022: Billing team must prepare for new provider numbers that will be assigned for processing claims. Update billing systems to accommodate new member ID numbers as membership migrates in phases (FEP plans July 1, 2022; Fully Insured/Balance Funded plans January 1, 2023; Self Funded/Government programs January 1, 2024). Monitor provider portal for new member ID numbers and use new numbers for migrated members while continuing to use old numbers for non-migrated membership.
