Summary
Starting October 3, 2025, Hawaii Medicaid providers will no longer receive paper appeal letters, claim letters, and virtual card payment statements - these will only be available through the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal. All claim reconsiderations and medical appeals must be submitted electronically through the portal.
Action Required
By October 3, 2025: Hawaii Medicaid billing teams must transition to digital workflows - register for UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal access, train staff to check Document Library regularly for claim letters and payment documents, and submit all claim reconsiderations and appeals electronically through the portal. Notify any outside vendors (revenue cycle management companies) of these digital requirements. Paper submissions will no longer be accepted.
